What Is Needed Before Practicing Magick or Occult Works


One must consider the mass amount of knowledge that is a prerequisite to any type of magick or occult works, many people especially in today's youth, don't understand what is all required of the human body and mental mind in order to safely and accurately perform magick and/or other occult sciences. They jump in to the flame without thought or hesitation. This is why many people go into the occult sciences sane, but leave crazy or "possessed", the occult is a science that needs to be respected and approached with a certain amount of knowledge.
This simple yet dramatic example of how one can slip seamlessly off the narrow path of the magi. This is why the hidden art and science brought to life this day and age gives off a bad light and effect. People who haven't built their own moral and ethic fabric to withstand the temptations presented with magick will lose their nerve and follow the left hand path.
The Student of the path must build his faculties to sustain the stresses presented to him in his or her path. The main faculties are of the mind. The primary areas of the mind consist of: Control of Thought, Silencing the Mind, Building your Astral Senses and Psychic Faculties. What do I mean by Control of though? Through meditation you will learn how you can control what thoughts enter your mind, this is useful and necessary to remove any negativity that may enter your mind. So then what is silencing the mind? It works hand in hand with the Control of Thought, you have to be able to silence your mind, not being thinking of anything, in order to truly meditate and grow. Some may say this is impossible! I am here to tell you that it is not, and It is a blessing to have the ability whether you practice magick or not.
The next in line, but equally important, are the faculties of the Physical. The Physical faculties consist of Asana Practice, Pranayama and Physical Endurance and Fitness. What is Asana? Asana is the ability to control the bodys movement, similar to and often associated with yoga, the goal is to only allow movement that you command. This will eventually give you full control over your body. Pranayama? This is the art of breathing, taking controlled breaths. This is an essential skill for meditation and yoga.
The Mental and Physical faculties are preliminary studies and practices without the foundation of mental structure, nothing will develop much further.
